This specimen was stabilized with Paraloid B-72, a consolidant commonly used in the field of mineral and fossil preservation. The stabilization process infuses the specimen with an acrylic polymer, resulting in a specimen .that is less frangible while halting any degradation that sandstone will normally suffer.
