Original WWII-era Type A-1 Oxygen Flow Indicator
Manufactured by Sperti, Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio
This aircraft instrument was issued to monitor oxygen delivery systems in military aircraft during high-altitude missions and features original radium-based luminous paint (Radium-226) on the internal markings, typical of U.S. military avionics manufactured during World War II.
The last picture shows how the phosphor barely illuminates under high powered UV light - a definitive sign of radiation damage.
