Glowbody Minnow (Radioactive Fishing Lure)
Vintage novelty fishing lure manufactured by Abbey & Imbrie, a well-known American sporting goods company. Produced approximately circa 1920s–1940s, the lure incorporates a factory-sealed radium-activated phosphor element that may no longer be self-luminous today due to radiation damage. The radioactive source continuously excited the phosphor, creating a steady glow without requiring charging from light, batteries, or chemicals—intended for use in deep, murky, or low-light waters.
