This specimen was stabilized with Paraloid B-72, a consolidant commonly used in the field of mineral preservation. It provides exceptional protective qualities for long-term conservation. The stabilization process infuses the specimen with an acrylic polymer, resulting in a piece that won't fall apart over time as autunite normally does if neglected.
