Nováčekite is a rare mineral belonging to the borate class. It was named in honor of Dr. Václav Nováček, a Czech mineralogist and professor at Charles University in Prague. First discovered in the Těšín Region of the Czech Republic, Nováčekite is a mineral characterized by its color, which ranges from pale yellow to yellow. It leaves a very pale yellow streak when tested. On the Mohs scale, Nováčekite has a hardness rating of 2 to 2½, indicating a relatively soft mineral. In terms of tenacity, it is described as waxy, suggesting a greasy or oily texture.

Although it has not been documented that Nováčekite is a fluorescent mineral,  the bright yellow Nováčekite crystals fluoresce brightly under 365 and 405nm light. It is possible that Nováčekite contains trace amounts of activator elements or impurities that respond to UV light in this manner. The specific activator responsible for the fluorescence of Nováčekite at 365 and 405nm would need to be determined through further analysis and research.
