Common Name: autunite
Mineral: calcium uranyl phosphate also called calco-uranite
Locality: Huantai County, Zibo Shandong Provence P.R.C.
Autunite contains 48.27% uranium. This specimen will glow bright green in the presence of UV light due to the presence of phosphorus.
A count of 1000CPM can be expected when the sealed specimen is placed within 1/4 inch of a beta/gamma sensitive Geiger counter.
A small UV light source is included with each vial.
The size of each vial is 46mm tall by 15.4mm in maximum diameter. Each vial has been sealed closed using epoxy for safety purposes. Attempting to open the vial is not recommended.
Shipped with USPS First Class only in polyethylene and bubble wrap in a black tin-plated steel box to protect from crushing and bring the parcel surface activity well below the 0.5mR/hr shipping limit.
